My name is Yena Mgobhozi, I am a health food enthusiast. I have a passion for good wholesome and tasty food. My love for healthy food started in 2016 when I started my weight loss journey.
I was in my final year in varsity when my health took a turn for the worst. I started skipping my period months at a time. I was also diagnosed at a young age with heart palpitations and also had respiratory problems. I finally decided that I had, had enough of being unhealthy and overweight. I started exercising and eating clean, nutritious and wholesome foods. My weight started shedding off like wildfire. As a result, I lost 20kg with in a space of a year.
I knew the only way I would keep the weight off would be by changing my lifestyle. I started to write healthy recipes that could help me lose weight and also combat my cravings. All my recipes are budget friendly and have a variety of nutritious ingredients.
This is where Your kitchen is your new gym was born. I wanted to let people know that weight loss starts in your kitchen and not in the gym. No, I don’t mean stop exercising or going to the gym. I mean be mindful of what you are putting into your body.
